Cookie policy
Last updated: 1 novembre 2026
This page explains which cookies and similar tools lacantinapizzeria.it uses, what they are for and how you can choose. It is provided under Article 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the Italian "Privacy Code") and the Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021 issued by the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (the Italian Data Protection Authority), and it supplements the privacy notice. The data controller is La Cantina di Gentile Giovanni; for any question write to info@lacantinapizzeria.it.
In short
- Without your consent the site uses only technical tools: the
sb_consentcookie, which remembers your choices on the banner, and thelc-temaentry, if you choose the light or the dark page. - On the site, statistics and marketing tools are switched on only if you accept them, and you can choose category by category. Today Google Analytics 4 (statistics), Google Ads and Meta Pixel (marketing) are configured.
- Closing the banner with the X is the same as refusing.
- If you order or book, the panel that opens belongs to GloriaFood and has its own tools, including statistics and advertising ones, which the banner does not control: we describe them further down.
- You can change your mind at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a site saves in your browser to remember information from one page to the next or from one visit to the next. Other tools work in a similar way, such as the browser’s local storage (localStorage), the pixels and the scripts of advertising platforms: on this page we call them all "cookies". They can be set by us (first-party cookies) or by other services (third-party cookies).
The categories we use
Necessary
They are needed for the site to work and to remember your choices. They do not require consent (Art. 122(1) of the Privacy Code) and cannot be switched off from the banner. There are two:
sb_consent: a first-party cookie that stores the categories you have accepted or refused, the date of the choice, the version of the banner and a random identifier of the choice, so that we do not ask for your consent on every page. With the party form request we record only the state of your choices (statistics yes or no, marketing yes or no), not the identifier. It contains no data that identifies you directly. It lasts 180 days. It appears in the table below.lc-tema: a first-party entry in the browser’s local storage (localStorage). It remembers whether you chose the light or the dark page with the moon-and-sun switch. We write it only when you use the switch, only your browser reads it and the browser does not send it to us or to anyone else. It stays until you clear the site’s data from the browser. If you do not use the switch, it does not exist.
The site has no reserved areas or registration for visitors, so it uses no other login or session cookies.
Statistics
They help us understand how you use the site: how many people visit it, which channels they come from, which pages work and where they stop. On the site they are switched on only with your consent. With consent, the site also remembers, until you close the tab, which page or advert you came from (the sb_attr entry in the browser’s session storage, first-party; it appears in the table below).
Marketing
They are used to measure the results of our advertising campaigns, for example to know whether an advert led to a contact request, and to show you relevant adverts on other sites and social networks. The platforms may use them to build profiles based on your interests. On the site they are switched on only with your consent.
Tools active on this site
The table lists the technical cookie of your choices and the statistics and marketing tools active at this moment, with provider, purpose, cookie duration and the provider’s privacy notice. We update it when we switch a service on or off.
| Tool | Provider | Category | Purpose | Cookies / storage | Duration | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie preferences | This site | Technical (necessary) | Remembers your cookie choice (policy version, date, random choice identifier, consent per category) so we don’t ask on every page. | sb_consent | 180 days | — |
| Source of the visit | This site | Analytics or marketing (consent) | Only with analytics or marketing consent: keeps the visit source for the session (utm parameters and ad click identifiers) to attribute a contact form request correctly. | sb_attr (sessionStorage) | Until the tab is closed | — |
| Google Analytics 4 | Google Ireland Limited | Analytics (consent) | Aggregated statistics on site usage: page views, traffic sources, events such as a form submission. | _ga, _ga_<ID> | Up to 2 years | Read |
| Google Ads | Google Ireland Limited | Marketing (consent) | Measures conversions (e.g. contact requests) generated by Google ads and enables remarketing. | _gcl_au, _gcl_aw, _gcl_gb, _gcl_dc | 90 days | Read |
| Meta Pixel | Meta Platforms Ireland Limited | Marketing (consent) | Measures Facebook and Instagram campaign results and allows showing ads to people who visited the site. | _fbp, _fbc | 90 days | Read |
If you have given consent, when you send the party form (if active) the tools receive only the "request sent" event and the kind of party chosen among the form’s options, never name, phone number, email, date, place or message. When you start filling in the form they also receive the "form started" event.
Orders and bookings: the GloriaFood panel
When you tap Order or Book, a panel opens that belongs to GloriaFood, Oracle’s online ordering service that we use. Until you tap one of those buttons, the page loads nothing from GloriaFood. On the first tap the browser downloads GloriaFood’s script (www.fbgcdn.com) and the panel connects to www.foodbooking.com.
The cookies and tools used inside the panel are loaded by GloriaFood: they are not the site’s and do not appear in the table above. The panel may use technical cookies to remember the order in progress and includes services from other companies chosen by GloriaFood, for example Google maps for the delivery address, an anti-bot check (hCaptcha) and performance measurement (mPulse). Information about them is in the notices of GloriaFood and of those services.
Statistics and advertising inside the panel. The pizzeria’s GloriaFood account is configured with Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads statistics and campaign measurement tools (in today’s configuration: Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Meta Pixel). They start when you open the panel, whatever you chose in our site’s banner: today the panel does not wait for your consent. Until you tap Order or Book, nothing starts. If you prefer not to open the panel, you can also order or book by phone or on WhatsApp.
How consent works with Google services
We use Google’s consent mode (Consent Mode v2). Until you choose, the four consent signals (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) start as "denied". The other two signals (functionality and security) stay on because they concern technical operation only, and the site does not use them to save cookies; until you accept marketing, Google also redacts the advertising data (ads_data_redaction). If you accept statistics we switch on analytics_storage; if you accept marketing we switch on ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. The site does not load the statistics and marketing tools, from Google or from the other providers, before your consent: they do not start even in "cookieless" form. This applies to the site, not to the GloriaFood panel described above.
Third-party providers and transfers outside the European Union
Each provider manages its own cookies and in some cases processes the data as an independent controller. For the Meta Pixel, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and we are joint controllers for the collection and transmission of data through the pixel only, under Meta’s Controller Addendum. Their notices are linked in the table above. Google and Meta are based or have servers in the United States or in other countries outside the European Economic Area: the transfers take place with the safeguards described in the privacy notice, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses.
How to choose, and how to change your mind
On your first visit a banner appears with which you can:
- accept all cookies;
- refuse all non-necessary cookies, with a button as visible as the one to accept;
- choose by category (statistics, marketing): no category is on to start with;
- close the banner with the X, which is the same as refusing and leaves only the necessary tools on.
Scrolling the page or continuing to browse does not count as consent. We remember your choice for 180 days and before then we do not show you the banner again, unless the tools or the purposes change significantly, or we can no longer tell whether you have already chosen (for example because you have deleted the cookies).
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page, or from here: open the cookie preferences. After withdrawal we no longer load the tools; the cookies the providers have already saved expire on their own, or you can delete them from your browser settings.
You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings, usually in the section for privacy, cookies and site data. If you block the necessary cookie as well, the site will not be able to remember your choice and will ask for your preferences on every visit.
If you refuse
The site works just the same: you can read every page, look at the menu, order, book and ask about availability for a party. On the site we do not measure your visit with statistics tools and we do not switch on the marketing tools. GloriaFood’s ordering panel follows its own rules, described above.
What we do not use
The fonts are on our server: we do not load fonts from Google Fonts or similar services, so your visit does not send your IP address to these providers. The map on "Where we are", on the home page and on the Sunday lunch page does not load by itself: you see our own aerial photo with the "Show the Google map" button. If you tap it, or if you have accepted marketing in the banner, the page loads the Google Maps map from www.google.com: from that moment Google receives your IP address and may use its cookies, under its privacy policy. Until you do, nothing is sent to Google. We do not embed Facebook, Instagram or other social plugins in the pages: Facebook, Instagram, Google and WhatsApp are plain links, which install nothing until you tap them. We do not use cookie walls: access to the site does not depend on consent.
Changes
We update this page when the active tools change, for example when the platform for orders and bookings changes. If we add significant providers or purposes, we ask for your consent again.
